Euros Childs, Mon 3rd Sept

When Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci split back in 2006, the prospect of frontman/all-rounder Euros Childs retreating to a life outside of music, or disappearing completely, was too depressing to contemplate. But we needn’t have worried. Since then, he’s appeared on a frankly alarming number of records and visited Brighton under various guises. Now back promoting ‘Summer Special’, staggeringly his tenth solo work, he’s playing to his charming glam-folk strengths once more, and is here backed – and supported – by Glasgow’s The Wellgreen.

Jake Kennedy

Jake Kennedy has only lived in Brighton since 2007 but still gets a childish joy from seeing bands in smaller venues than in London, with cheaper beer prices to boot. He has written about music for 15 years and is the author of a book widely regarded as chapter and verse on Joy Division’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’. He has contributed to The Guardian, NME, Metal Hammer, Top Santé, Record Collector, Nuts, Loaded and The Angler’s Mail, among others. He was also the last European journalist to interview Elliott Smith.
