Cask Pub & Kitchen

Sussex beer geeks regularly travelled up to London’s Pimlico to visit this much lauded temple of rare brews. The owners have repaid the favour by choosing Brighton for their second branch, located in the former Hop Poles/Spotted Dog on Middle Street. The more exotic beers, many from Scandinavian micro-breweries, can be on the pricey side (up to £10 a pint and £25 a bottle), but most rare items are. Sister pub CRAFT is also opening a Brighton branch this year.

Adam Peters

Adam Peters started out publishing football fanzines in the late 80s. Various jobs on video games magazines and a brief dalliance scripting photo love stories for the teen press followed. Switching media to television, he co-wrote David Walliams' first sitcom, was somehow once BAFTA-nominated and now concentrates on pre-school animation series. Coming full circle, in 2013 he launched a roller derby fanzine.
