It might be time for a celebratory toast or for crying into another pint. Either way, a strong drink will be necessary after the most unpredictable election in decades. Fittingly, The Greys is putting on an afternoon benefit gig for the People’s Assembly with some of Brighton’s finest politically charged musicians: Underhound, Boy In The Cupboard, Grant Sharkey, Jon Mason and Chuck SJ Hay. There’s a mixture of folk, indie, and even a double bass playing troubadour, but what unites them are the astutely crafted lyrics, forged via the time-honoured tradition of political protest. Donations to the People’s Assembly will no doubt be gratefully received.
