Once named “the best night out in London” by Bizarre magazine, Stay Beautiful is the creation of Manics biographer and the Independent’s rock and pop critic, Simon Price. For 10 heady years it subverted the London club scene and has now strutted down to our fine city, feather boa blowing in the sea breeze.
But first a confession. SOURCE would like to say it experienced the more mellow offerings that were promised upstairs in the Frog Bar, but we didn’t. That was because we were too busy stomping about downstairs to the ‘glam-punk-glitter-trash’ of Bowie, Bolan and Blondie, and trying to figure out who were boys and who were girls. Stay Beautiful has promised to be a bi-monthly event, which might seem a bit sparse, but you need this night in your life.
