From humble, punk beginnings in a rundown Homerton pub to a residency in a cliffside Italian cinema, Pumarosa have steadily crept up the indie music scene these last few years. The London five-piece are now firmly on the radar thanks to their Patti Smith inspired, electronica-meets-indie nocturnal sounds.

With just two tracks – the epic debut ‘Priestess’, and this spring’s equally-unpredictable ‘Cecile’ – Pumarosa established themselves as one of the most idiosyncratic new acts of the past twelve months. Now with new single ‘Honey’ making the rounds on BBC Radio 1 – the catchy, Kate Bush-esque high notes of vocalist Isabel Munoz-Newsome will remain floating around your mind for some time.

They’re playing the Green Door Store on October 20th as part of a six-date headline tour, including a show at London’s beloved Village Underground and a finale in Dublin. The hype surrounding this band is something you’ll have to put to the test for yourself.
