Devonshire boy done good Ben Howard is the kind of folksy nice boy who looks like he’d make a lovely English teacher if that music thing doesn’t work out. Last album ‘Every Kingdom’ was well received in traditional folk circles, with a more rootsy, melodic and minimalist approach to the genre than many of the chart-watching pop-folkers around nowadays. Nonetheless, expect lots of fans singing along, and people bringing their mums. Get there early enough to see Daughter, who deserve to be huge this year.
