Lost Chance Saloon

You can’t fail to notice that May has suddenly hit Brighton hard with all its festival glory. As part of the Fringe, a new venue has landed on the lawn between St Peter’s Church and the Level. It’s called Caravanserai, and some of you may know it from Bestival. The multi-venue site is looking stunning on its opening weekend, and will be hosting a wide programme of music, theatre, comedy and cabaret from now until the first weekend of June.

One such event is the Lost Chance Saloon. This has been put together by several members of the crew from the old Lost Vagueness Casino and the Snake Pit which were at the heart of Glastonbury’s most beautiful naughty corner.

The night has a cow punk theme and dressing up is encouraged, but what stands out is the quality and range of the acts.

Live music will be provided in the form of psychedelic country from Trip Westerns (whose recent sell out show at the Green Door Store was rapturously received), electro disco from Transformer who are pretty much the house band for the Uncle Monty’s parties and frenzied punkabilly from the Electric Cowboy Club who are rapidly building a name for themselves as Brighton’s wildest live band.

The late-night cabaret includes the Team Mud can-can girls and a return to stage from the appropriately named Two Wrongies who will be performing their synchronised swimming routine for the first time in eight years.

DJs will then keep the party going into the early hours, while the Wonky Trolly charity casino will be raising funds for the Brighton Food Bank.

The night starts at 9pm but guests are encouraged to turn up early as the Saloon will be hosting a garden party outside the venue from 8pm.
