Peace By Vengeance, Thurs 1st June

May 1, 2023

Posted by Louise Bloom

Forged in the depths of a vitriolic break-up, Peace By Vengeance is a torturous journey told in modern burlesque. In their original, debut performance, Griddy captures the pain, the fear and the wrath of a broken-hearted woman. Drawn from personal circumstances, it is an intimate show in the extreme, an expression of the ecstasy and agony of love and loss.

The spell is cast over three acts, weaving elements of horror with spoken word and atmospheric self-made rhythms, to drag us along the less-pretty parts of romance. The blurb calls it “Dante’s Inferno with Lady Gaga’s theatrical performance”. This is the stuff fringe festivals are made for.
