The BANFF film festival comes to Brighton this spring with two nights of short films showcasing the beauty of the Canadian mountains and the crazy things people do in the name of sport.

The film festival consists of two programmes. The Red Programme arrives in Brighton on Feb 12th with a reel including: Ice Waterfalls, an exhilarating short film recounting Aniol Serrasolses’ ventures kayaking down treacherous landscapes; Dolomites, demonstrating Kilian Bron’s professional yet risky mountain biking; and Dropping Molly, Molly Mitchell’s experience of extreme mountain climbing. The Blue Programme, on April 9th, promises to be equally as exhilarating while showcasing different sports like snowboarding, running and a range of athletics.

The BANFF Film Festival is a renowned international film competition, organised by the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, which exhibits a wide range of films and documentaries about mountainous adventure and sports culture. It has been held annually since 1975 in Banff, Canada.

The films provide an insight into the exploration of the Banff mountains and the sports that take place there, presenting inspirational stories about the people that strive to compete in these treacherous conditions. Each year, the festival tours the UK and Ireland, bringing the exhilarating spirit of extreme adventure sports to the big screen.
