Polite Bureaux Headline the Green Door Store

If we’re honest, we were not sure at first about Polite Bureaux. While some Brighton gig regulars raved about them, something didn’t quite catch and we quickly dismissed them and moved on. So much music, so little time. That was until they blew Team Source away, upstairs at the Hope and Ruin, where they supported the ever amazing Benefits, back in 2024.

As a direct result, we were frankly much more excited about seeing them than we were Stewart Lee or the Lovely Eggs at the Concorde last December, and we were rewarded with a fun dancey set full of the real spirit of punk. ‘Lidl Fiddle’ from second album ‘Except Your Skint’ is a prime example of their craft with its brash electronics and Fall like swagger.

What’s more, the band, who are split between Brighton and Bradford are genuinely decent people, whether chatting to you at the merch stand or when you bother them, because you are sat next to them, in the Hand in Hand.

Their Saturday night headline set at the Green Door Store therefore promises to be seriously fun, and their socials appear to be hinting that new material will soon be released.
