Can it really be 7 years, since Chalk came into our lives and became the scene of so much fun and so many phenomenal live shows? Apparently so. As we cried our goodbyes to the much missed Haunt, we gained something bigger and better instead. Since then amongst others Viagra Boys, Lambrini Girls, Snapped Ankles, Ezra Collective, Goat, Kneecap, Ditz, Fat White Family and most recently Madra Salach (who blew us away at this years Great Escape) have given us delicious memories of all that is wonderful about getting covered in beer while dancing like a lunatic to the best bands surrounded by good friends.
To celebrate this momentous anniversary, the Chalk team have arranged a suitably epic treat. Former local residents and notoriously crazy epic party starters Sea Power will be headlining a cracking night of music.
They will be supported by the quirky folk electro pop of Pictish Trail who has just released new single ‘Life Slime’. It is a joyous slice of squelchy feel good sunshine, that should ensure everyone is smiling. Hopefully Johnny Flynn won’t be bringing 170 litres of pink slime to pour over the crowd, which is what happens to him in the making of the video for the song.
Opening the night will be William J Healey and his classic indie rock.
