With Lily Allen allegedly returning to the studio, many are expecting a revival of 2007’s spoken-word Britpop. However Kate Nash seems to be breaking away from all that. Her last show in the city saw breakthrough hit ‘Foundations’ omitted from her set list in favour of a load of riot grrrl-influenced material. This return to Brighton could make or break her local reputation. Who will she alienate and who will she win over? Either way, if she doesn’t play a certain song, somebody will leave grumbling.
