Street Source No.12

Street Source is a regular feature showcasing photos taken around Brighton over the course of a month by one of our photographers. The idea is to share spontaneous moments around town – be it incidental street scenes, snapshots of people’s lives or images of the city as a landscape. Each month we ask a different local photographer to participate.

February brings some of the coldest days while also tempting us with promises of spring; it might be light when you finish work and the sun might shine but the nights remind you it’s definitely still winter. Armed with warm gloves and his camera, Mike Tudor braved the cold and took to the streets of Brighton.

Tall flats loom in the night sky.

Quieter at this time of night with the wind blowing across the seafront

An empty but well lit park.

The lights stay on until late.

A warm pub remains tempting.

A closed down cafe.

A lonely food van.

Keen riders and skaters take advantage of the dry concrete.

The walk home is still cold.
