Are You A Woman In Authority? Exhibition, Phoenix Gallery

Feminism, gender, queerness, intersectionality … standard Brighton subject matter, right? This upcoming Phoenix Art Space collaboration with Broken Grey Wires stands out as something new and worth a visit.

Perhaps it is the involvement of significant contributors like Sarah Lucas, Tracey Moffat, Zanele Muholi, Charlotte Prodger and others? Maybe it is the attention to detail, like suggested activities to explore the works, badges to indicate if you want to engage or be left alone, or a ‘Comfort Zone’ to retreat into and reflect on the experience?

Representing mental health and the artists’ own lives, Are You a Woman in Authority? promises to be a compelling and provocative experience either way.

Phoenix Art Space, 30th September – 19th November 2023, Wed-Sun, 11am-5pm
