Caspa’s ‘Rubber Chicken’, released back in ‘06, was one of the first songs to be classed as dubstep, and listening now you can still hear how the heavy, simple basslines defined the genre. Crackly, distorted drums, slow and corrupted synths and ‘wubs’ still underlie Caspa’s tracks, but they’ve progressed into a lighter, more house-y variant. Still, if you like your bass heavy and your beats strong, and don’t have to be up before midday on Thursdays, you’ll love it.
