Dilly Dally, Wed 27th Jan

Toronto four-piece Dilly Dally are set to bring their brand of infectious scuzz-pop to the Green Door Store. The Pixie’s influence is clearly evident with singer Katie Monk’s careering between girlish coaxes and shattering howls, complementing the light and dark, messy garage rock melodies. Debut album ‘Sore’ gleaned favourable reviews from the indie press in October, with comparisons to Pete Doherty and the Pogues. Think the pop punk princess swagger of Kenickie, the whirlwind rage of Hole, the uncomplicated hooks of Elastica and you’re on your way to imagining what’ll be crashing in to Brighton to banish our January blues.

Karen has been living in Brighton since 2010, where she rediscovered a love of music. And bars. And clubbing. She currently works three jobs to pay for these pastimes. When not writing or working or falling over, she can usually be found stuck in a book.
