Felix & Friends Preview

Drag Idol UK winner and darling of London Town, Felix Le Freak returns to Brighton for the second outing of the fabulously off-kilter cabaret showcase, Felix and Friends. Taking over the Tusk Club (downstairs at the Walrus) on Wednesday 13th November, we’ve been guaranteed to leave the venue weeping – whether that’s with joy or sadness hasn’t yet been specified… So if you’re in the market for some cathartic drag hysteria, Felix’s lovingly curated celebratory experience might be for you. 

It’s a real constellation of stars of the scene with Gem the Clown, whose neo-burlesque brand of clownery won her the coveted title of Mx Congeniality at Brighton’s Big Drag Pageant 2023. Then Sallyanne Fellowes will be channelling the queer, neurodiverse alien energy that won her the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2023.   

Daphne, an international cabaret cow and trans icon, will bring together camp glamour, irreverent humour and fearsome lip-sync skills. Nicky Vere-Compton, a short fat autistic queer who sings baritone, took their mix of anarchic standup and musical comedy to Edinburgh 2024, their Freaks and Fools show nominated for Neurodiverse Review’s “Actually Autistic Award”. And Mikee Martelle, a firm fixture in the Brighton stand-up circuit, will bring to live outrageous tales of love, loss and lust with audacious clarity.

It promises to be a riot of queer joy, morbid curiosities and flagrant stupidity, where audience participation is strongly encouraged. There are two intervals and you can come and go as you please, as long as you’re respectful of those iconic performers, of course.
