Gig/Film: Riot Grrrl Valentines Ball

It takes a lot to remain credible after making your name with a love song about McFly’s bassist, but Liverpool’s Town Bike have somehow managed it. Five years on, the two-girl, two-boy power pop combo are still churning out Helen-Love-fronting-Ash two-minute anthems designed to fill the empty horseshoe of shy in front of gig stages with happy dancing. Riots Not Diets organised this event featuring four bands plus a film screening in a quaint BYOB venue.

Adam Peters started out publishing football fanzines in the late 80s. Various jobs on video games magazines and a brief dalliance scripting photo love stories for the teen press followed. Switching media to television, he co-wrote David Walliams' first sitcom, was somehow once BAFTA-nominated and now concentrates on pre-school animation series. Coming full circle, in 2013 he launched a roller derby fanzine.
