Quietus editor and Guardian contributor John Doran (pictured right, with Arabrot’s Kjetil Nernes) is set to embark on a 31-date tour of the UK promoting his memoirs, ‘A Jolly Lad’ (out in June). It starts at Brighton’s Coach House on Friday 1st May — not the pub on Middle Street, but a community workshop space in BN2 more often associated with herbalism and bee keeping.
Norwegian noise rockers Arabrot head a triple bill of acts supporting readings from the book, which recounts tales of substance abuse and the redemptive power of music. Sounds heavy but, if Doran’s VICE magazine column is anything to go by, it promises to be an evening laced with black humour.
