Lewes Psychedelic Festival, 4th Feb

Let’s see if we can get through this one without using the words “acid”, “lysergic” or “trip”… born in 2009, the Lewes Psychedelic Festival is one of the shining iridescent jewels in our scene’s fabulous musical crown. Hosted by Melting Vinyl over at All Saints Church in olde Lewes town, the event returns next month bringing sounds and sights not often seen in the south. This is one unique gathering and although it’s now sold out, unwanted tickets may be found in the usual places.

In recent years the line-up has been a marvellous mash-up of local and national artists and SOURCE has witnessed properly epic performances by the likes of The Lucid Dream, Melt Dunes, AK/DK, and ĠENN (pictured above). This year the immense-o-meter is dialled right up again so prepare to have your senses contorted and distorted as Karma Sheen, VALVE, Oddfellows Casino and headliner TVAM set their controls for the heart of the sun.

The super-cute Union Music Store hosts a couple of the shows whilst Innerstrings’ kaleidoscopic projectors will be on hand to twist your visual melon. SOURCE has already booked the Sunday off. And the Monday too. In fact, the whole thing promises to be a lysergic acid trip of… ah dammit!
