The Leaning, Thurs 17th Aug

Starting like a Sergio Leone western, the video for the new single by Brighton band The Leaning ends up somewhere between an 80s B-movie and The Breakfast Club. ‘Stranger’ features a Simple Minds-esque chorus propped up by some glacial keyboard stabs that are in keeping with that era.

Still, the warmth of Sam’s passion, his dance moves, and Ez’s twanging guitar win through and surpass the coldness of that bleak time and find something of the classic sound of Fleetwood Mac. It is a song that stands up to these comparisons, and explains why all their Brighton shows have sold out to date.

They are launching the single with a special gig on August 17th at the Grand Central pub by Brighton Station. The night will also feature the full live collective and a performance by Cubzoa, aka Jack Walter of Penelope Isles.
