Format 34, Fri 6th – Sun 8th Dec

Vinyl is dead. Film is dead. We hear it all the time – it’s a digital world now and everyone, especially the young, has turned their backs on archaic analogue technology. Well, like the return of vinyl, film is firmly back. Ask any fan of 35mm photography and they’ll tell you – whether black and white or colour, those silver halide crystals capture light in a unique way that digital sensors don’t.

Even with that passion it’s a bold and interesting move to set up a new analogue photographic agency, but that’s exactly what Format 34 have done. Already they’ve had their work featured in Vogue, Nylon, Vice, Grazia, Q and many more, but when the photographers are as talented as sometime SOURCE snappers Eleni Mettyear and Nima Elm, plus Brighton’s Steve Glashier that’s no surprise. Ride is the first gallery showing of their work, but is more of an event than an exhibition, with DJs from SOURCE, Prinzhorn Dance School and Us Baby Bear Bones on Friday from 6.30pm-9.30pm. For a calmer viewing head down on Saturday or Sunday between 2pm-6pm.
