If you’re involved with the digital world – and let’s face it, most people in Brighton are – then you’ll probably agree that Brighton Digital Festival is a brilliant idea. The festival runs at various venues across Brighton and Hove for the month of September, is now in its fourth year, and has historically offered a hugely broad selection of events, from digital arts to coding to app-based treasure hunts.

If you fancy putting on an event in this year’s festival, independent applications are free to include in the programme, and they’re helping out even more with the Grassroots Fund, which will offer ten £500 grants to event organisers who aim to encourage the local community to engage with the festival ethos and with digital culture. They’re looking to make the festival inclusive and diverse so thinking outside the box is encouraged, and they’re particularly keen to support ideas that wouldn’t be possible without this additional funding.
