Street Style: Shauna

This month we hand over our Street Style to the Creative And Media Diploma students at Varndean College for some fresh eyes on Brighton’s fashion

As we enter a new decade it seems like some people are looking to move away from the 80s revival that’s been going now since electroclash brought the trash in 2001.So, what’s next? The 90s, obviously. Shauna here was just three years old when Hole’s Pretty On The Inside came out, and while Courtney Love’s kinderwhore look was much more extreme, there’s elements of grunge in the scruffy layers and ripped tights. Yeah, actually, what’s going on with all the knackered hosiery on young legs these days? Shauna happily admits to taking a key to hers, and we suspect that other holey leg coverings aren’t down to the recession. Here’s the rules anyway – one ladder is bad, loads of holes is good. The more fucked up the better which is good for one thing if nothing else – winding your mum up. Unless she was down the front at Nirvana gigs of course.
