Modern Nature are back with a new album and show at the Con Club

Several years ago SOURCE was lucky enough to attend a Bella Union Christmas party event at the White Cliffs café built into the cliff at Saltdean. The undisputed high point of that wonderful event was a headline performance by Jack Cooper and his stunning band Modern Nature. Since then, they have played shows at the Green Door Store and most recently a series of sold-out performances at the Rose Hill, all of which were spectacular.

They are now back with a new album ‘No Fixed Point In Space’, which will be released in the autumn on Bella Union with a December tour, which includes, thanks to Love Thy Neighbour, a show at the Con Club in Lewes.

Jack’s music resides in a space in between the delicacy of folk bands like Pentangle and the trance-like beauty of Neu!. It is organic and draws you into its surroundings. A midwinter show in a quiet and beautiful market town will be the perfect way to be embraced by it.

As ever Jack draws upon an interesting range of collaborators. This includes contributions from members of The Necks and Spiritualized, as well as a rare return to the studio from Julie Tippets (aka Julie Driscoll) whose stunning vocals make the cover of ‘Indian Ropeman’ she recorded with Brian Auger so incredible.

In such a beautiful venue, this show is sure to be special.
