Idles live at the Brighton Centre!

It seems an age since Steve Lamacq thanked the bands who had played a BBC Introducing showcase in 2016 at the beautiful Paganini Ballroom. One name in particular drew a beer-soaked roar of approval from these very lips. Steve looked us straight in the eyes and said, “they were good weren’t they?”

The rest, as they say, is history. This boy band from Bristol really need no introduction anymore. We’ve watched them move forward from playing upstairs at the Albert, via instores and outstores, right up to the Dome. Their legend has grown. Their fanbase has ‘gang merch’ and films in their own right.

The band are now back in an announcing kind of mood. A European tour with DITZ in support, has led to news of a new album, due in February. ‘TANGK’ is named after their signature minimal brutal twin beast Jesus Lizardy guitar sound.

That means the only decent thing to do is announce a UK tour, and it’s going big with the Brighton Centre, which they will play on December the 1st 2024! The artist pre-sale has just gone live, and Resident have their own pre-sale on the 6th of December. The real question is whether there will be any tickets left by the time we get this preview published. Frankly we doubt it. It might be a year away, but this is Idles; one of the best live bands you could ever hope to see. And yes, we bought ours before we hit publish. We will see you down the front.

The Brighton Centre, Sunday 1st December 2024
