The Miserable Rich Album Launch Show, Weds 20th March

The Miserable Rich is one of those bands that once you enter their world, it becomes a beautiful place to dwell. Their exquisitely honed arrangements and uplifting melodies sit perfectly alongside heartbreaking songs of tragedy and loss and, thankfully for their fans, they have returned after a lengthy hiatus with a masterpiece of an album, ‘Overcome’, that has garnered five star reviews far and wide.

They eased back into live performing with a celebratory album launch/comeback show at The Hope & Ruin last December (read our review here) and a stripped-back appearance and chat with Guy Lloyd for his new Later-style, Slack City Radio Show, ‘Radio Blah Blah’ in January.

They are heading out on a tour of Germany in April, plus a London date in July, but before that there is another chance to see the full band play a hometown show, which may be the last one for some time.

Get there early for strong support from Kristin McClement, a fellow associate of The Willkommen Collective. Taking inspiration from the work of Nick Drake and Leonard Cohen, her music reflects a mood of displacement and the feeling of being adrift in a complex world.

The show has almost sold out but details and final tickets are available here.
