Formerly half of 70s and 80s soulful rock duo Hall & Oates, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Daryl Hall is embarking on an international tour with Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze supporting, opening in Houston, Texas and ending on Sunday 25th May at The Brighton Centre.

They’ve performed together before, in concert and on Hall’s Live at Daryl’s House streaming music show, and this tour will see Tilbrook performing a solo set to open, then joining Daryl Hall on-stage to close the show.

Hall recently released ‘D’, his first solo album in 13 years, co-produced by Dave Stewart, who co-wrote seven of the nine new original songs, with Hall penning the other two, on Virgin Records.

In the 1970s and early 1980s, Hall scored numerous chart hits and is regarded as one of the best soul singers of his generation. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2014.

Early in his career he worked with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff in Philadelphia as both an artist and a session musician before teaming up with John Oates in 1967. Hall & Oates second album, Abandoned Luncheonette, released in 1973, yielded the single ‘She’s Gone’, which became a Yacht Rock classic.

The hits continued into the 1980s with classics such as ‘Maneater’, ‘Out of Touch’ and ‘Private Eyes’. Since 2007, Hall has hosted the online show/webcast Live from Daryl’s House, which features live music legends in a podcast/videocast first from his home in Millerton, New York, and more recently from his club Daryl’s House in Pawling, New York.

This will be a rare opportunity to catch the legendary performer in person and tickets go on sale from the Brighton Centre box office or online here from Friday 24th January.
