Stick It On Review

After a decade of DJ democracy at a range of Brighton venues Stick It On relaunched at the Blind Tiger club over the bank holiday weekend so we went down to revel in the laid back atmosphere and spin a few tunes. Everyone wants to be a DJ really, up there controlling the crowd, playing your best records, all those honeys gawping at you, who wouldn’t? Stick it On gives anyone the chance to make or break the dancefloor – and a good tip we learned – Michael Jackson will always save a waning crowd.

With so many club nights exuding a bloated sense of self-importance it’s refreshing to drink and dance among punters and promoters who don’t take themselves too seriously. Plus you get to hear Mosca’s ‘Bax’ followed by Tiffany’s ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’. Sure, you often have to deal with some very questionable beat matching at points but that’s part of the easy going vibe, no one’s here to judge and everyone can get involved. We’re already planning what tunes to drop at the next one.
