Holy Vessels Shoot, Behind The Scenes

A lot of our life at the SOURCE is spent sitting in the office looking at blank Word documents. Most of the rest of the time is spent looking at full Word documents, trying to find mstakes. So it’s always exciting to get out and shoot the cover, without doubt the best fun we have all month.

This time we took Holy Vessels out to East Grinstead and threw them in a pond. It took the best part of a day to get there, pull on waders, get the rescue diver in her suit, set up the lights and tempt the band into the very cold water. A few hours in, after a bit of stress finding makeshift wires to sync up the lights (too boring to describe further) we looked over at Kenny McCracken who, under his ‘tache, was smiling.
“Is there anything you’d rather be doing?” we asked him.
“Nothing at all,” he exclaimed.

And that’s why we never use press shots on our covers. Not because Kenny’s photos are better than anything we get sent – even though they are. Or even because we don’t want to use tired old pictures. It’s not even because we normally get bands before they have decent pictures, though that’s often true too. It’s simply because we love doing them. Thanks for indulging us.
