Although his own photos are the main part of the shop, Zoingimage has also become the centre point of the emerging Lomo scene of lo-tech film cameras. Although Serge had never taken a picture until a customer in the restaurant he worked in gave him a camera, he’s been successful selling his photos in the street and in the old indoor market for the last six years.

Pictures £6
“The small canvases are all taken by me and handmade in the shop,” says Serge. “There are lots of images from Brighton or you can also get your own pictures on them for £8.”

Film cameras from £24
“We sell 70% of the full range of Lomography cameras, including Lomo LCAs, Holgas, Diana and Supersamplers. They’re a great place to start in photography, or for advanced users wanting to bring in a new aspect.”

Build your own cameras from £11.90
“They’re pinhole cameras that come flat packed, are made of cardboard and take 35mm film. They take a few hours to build.”

Books from £12.99
“Quite a few are related to Lomography and some are about particular photographers. I try to choose interesting subjects and they range is always changing.”
