GangUp Magazine

Finally what Brighton needs most, another magazine… But some things are born different. You won’t find shots of people that used to be in The Bill at yet another launch party here or page after page of “show us your tattoo” pics.

GangUp is a sultry and lively 104 page photography-fashion magazine determined to get your heart racing and your indignation rising, while keeping your eyes fixed on the images.

Created by our very own DarkDaze, who’d grown very bored of having so few outlets for fashion editorial spreads that he gathered up two photographers whose work and tireless attitude he admired – the achingly good 18 year old Louie Banks, and the debauched club/street hustling photographer Sam Hiscox, both SOURCE contributors.

They were joined by both Emma and Stevi of Ophelia Fancy, and model/muse/producer Sally Reynolds, to create a 50-50 boy/girl ego split, who together have produced an edgy, lavish and often beautiful mag.

GangUp aims to push photography in Brighton, using local camera talent and local models while pursuing its own agenda of delighting and offending on every page. The first all girl issue features nine long editorials, three from each photographer, and the handpicked line-up will expand from issue 2. To model, contribute or buy it (£12) contact www.gangupmagazine.com.
