Both Ifan Dafydd and Elephino are exciting prospects but we’re most excited to see Gang Colours in action. The Southhampton producer was much lauded by Gilles Peterson who soon signed him, impressed by the sepia-soaked melancholy of his ‘In Your Gut Like A Knife’ EP, which featured hushed pads and undulating synths that swell and swirl around snipped female vocals to create some idyllic sounding electronica. His style is understated while also being confident; his tunes have momentum and a strong sense of identity.
