Flim Flam Xmas Party, Sat 23rd December

Now here’s the situation. For anyone seeking an alternative to the alternative, additional subversion or more radical diversion from the impending big day, the Flim Flax Xmas extravaganza at The Bee’s Mouth may be what you’ve been looking for. Convened by Flim Flam, the purveyors of occasional dadaist performance happenings in Brighton, this, their final soiree of the year, promises bags of magical nonsense, eclecticism and mayhem.

Rumour has it there will be: live lathe-cutting sound experiments from Furrowed (pressing records as you watch and wonder); a return to stand-up for one night only by ‘comedian’ Mr Mee Hall; festive grooves, drones and drum machines from Difficult Art And Music’s Distant Animals; and tasteful racket making/sound-play interrogation by Hardworking Families.

Throw in sideshows and fun activities (anti-Xmas crafting, a violent auction, storytelling by an AI robot) plus a major scoop, Mary J Blige’s Xmas album (on tape) and this has to be the go-to entertainment event of the Fluxus season. All welcome/pay what you can…
