It ain’t easy on a band when your lead singer and primary songwriter quits, and such was the problem facing Texan folkers Midlake when founder Tim Smith walked out during the sessions for their fourth album last year. It’s fallen to guitarist Eric Pulido to step up to the plate, the group starting writing and recording afresh. That record, ‘Antiphon’, appeared back in November, and Midlake now visit our shores to prove their survival skills to British fans.
