Mutations Festival 2024 Line-Up Announced

FORM have announced the line-up for the 2024 edition of the multi-venue Mutations Festival. This year there is a new format with three artist-curated parties before the main days on Friday and Saturday.

This year the main headliners are the mighty Beefheart-infused filthy disco merchants, Warmduscher, on the Friday with dual headline slots on the Saturday from the maudlin genius and Manchester resident BC Camplight, and arguably the most exciting and anarchic breakthrough artists of the year: Northern Irish rappers Kneecap. The Belfast trio were an undisputed highlight of The Great Escape and they will surely be riding high on those end-of-year album lists thanks to the success of recent album ‘Fine Art’.

The earlier parties feature the riot grrrl punk of Sprints on the Tuesday, the ethereal Asian electronica of Arooj Aftab on the Wednesday and the mutant hip hop of Casisdead on the Thursday. If that wasn’t enough there are some real treats on the diverse line-up including a return to the stage for the majestic Mercury Rev and a return to Brighton from the crazy Herne the Hunter devotees Snapped Ankles.

There is a real sense that some artists are building in status. Local heroes Lime Garden, in particular, will be pleased at the font size their name deservedly gets, as will the Glaswegians Vlure, who were incredible on the Thursday night at Glastonbury.

Delve deeper and we have recent Hidden Herd headliners Adult DVD, psych queen Jane Weaver, Hebden Bridge rock’n’roll from The Lounge Society, the ever-phenomenal Heartworms, riotous dirty noise from Enola Gay, recent Bella Union signings Our Girl, and angsty punk from Lice as well as the captivating singer songwriter William J Healy.

Lots of exceptionally good local bands deservedly make the selection including Ellis-D, Hot Wax, Ideal Living, Keg, The New Eves, Plantoid and Van Zon.

On top of that there is a hole heap of bands we’ve never heard of, and frankly some of them are going to be the discoveries that truly blow our minds and get our feet stomping. Team SOURCE is very much looking forward to seeing you all down the front!
