Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, Weds 22nd March

Posted by Steve Clements

Youngest heir to the throne of the late king of Afro Beat, Seun Kuti is keeping his father Fela’s flame alive, much the same as eldest son Femi has been doing for the past 20+ years.

He joined Egypt 80, Fela’s last band, as a 9-year-old and has since toured the globe several times and produced three excellent albums. Expect a high-energy set comprised of his own material alongside some Fela classics.

Brighton’s own Afro funkateers Lakuta, signed to Tru Thoughts, provide strong support.
