You might not have heard the name Elli Ingram in a long time, but Brighton-based R&B vocalist has returned with new material, and it’s sounding sweet.

Despite having a gig booked in what is probably the busiest weekend in Brighton – with music events taking place as part of Brighton Festival, The Great Escape and The Alternative Escape pretty much everywhere and all the time – Ingram managed to fill up the downstairs of a brand new venue called The Walrus (which replaced The Smugglers on Ship Street).

Accompanied by a strong backing band, Elli commanded the stage and kept us hooked with her beautiful, soulful voice. Keep an eye out for Elli Ingram’s upcoming album. Judging by this show, it’s definitely one worth waiting for.
