The Tubes, the San Francisco-based art rock band, celebrate their triumphant return to the UK with their Mondo Pulp Tour that kicked off on October 7th.
The band’s theatrical showcase was a quasi-pornographic and satirical take on the media, consumerism and politics – all played out by lead singer Fee Waybill’s deranged on-stage characters.
In 1977 The Tubes toured the UK, but many of their shows were banned due to British censorship. What we saw at the Concorde2 on a windy Saturday night was luckily not censored at all… Our photographer went down there to try and catch the atmosphere.
