FKA twigs, Thurs 2nd October

Having recently made the dubious progression from being the independent music press’ most hyped darling to hot gossip on the catty pages of Closer and teenagers’ Twitters due to being Robert Pattison’s rumoured new girlfriend, Tahliah Debrett Barnett’s had a busy year. Since the release of 2013’s ‘EP2’ on Young Turks, she’s been considered to be at the British forefront of the trippy, dream-pop scene that’s dominating electronic music. With ethereal vocals that menace as well as drift and soar, catchy beats and a consciously subversive image, she’s developed her style into something beautiful on this year’s release, her first full-length. ‘LP1’ features a who’s-who of impressive producers and the result is stunning, and commended by pretty much everyone.

Can she maintain the sleek production and continue receiving universal praise with her live shows? If you’re lucky enough to have got a ticket for the opening night of her UK tour at the Brighton Dome, you’ll be amongst the first to know.
