Donky Pitch, Fri 3rd October

It’s an inevitable pun: Donky Pitch has bucked the trend. In the past five years the Brighton electronic music scene has seen many of its best-loved nights crumble under the pressure of changing clubs, new fashions and promoters jumping ship for London, and not many of Donky Pitch’s original competitors are still going. As both a label and a club night, Donky Pitch have brought some of the most diverse, interesting, unconventional and sometimes downright weird music to our ears, with releases from artists all over the world and a core gang of producers represented at their shows.

This night at Green Door Store features long-term affiliate Slugabed at the top of the billing, along with Lockah, Tokyo Hands, Tim Parker and co-honcho Grinel. It’s free entry, it’s always rammed with the right kind of crowd, and for the freshers amongst you, it’s a brilliant introduction to the more interesting side of Brighton’s club scene. No excuses.

For a taster of what to expect, have a listen to the thirteen tracks here.
