Quirky, kitch, sardonic: there’s lots of ways to describe Octopuses, but it’s hard to get it completely right (though we tried last Christmas). Indie-infused with catchy pop choruses, their new songs wander between sarcastic and heartfelt, and new single, the Steve Lamacq-backed ‘Pogo,’ is a perfect example with a tale of twisted, long-lost love. It’s out now on Lick Records, and the single launch party is tonight at The Cowley Club, with support from Boy In The Cupboard and Platipus.
