‘A Night For Nepal – 100 Flowers’ – Photo Gallery

The Old Market hosted a raucous night of music, performance and entertainment, all for a great cause. ‘A Night for Nepal – 100 Flowers’ successfully raised over £2000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee, in aid of the victims of the earthquake that devastated Nepal on 25 April this year.

Admirably put together by Amy Osborne and Laura Vane, SOURCE got access all areas, and got to see the night from all angles. The venue, never short of charm, was dressed to party. Larger than life hostess and singer Dolly Rocket set the tone with a parental advice warning shot; ‘If you are easily offended, please fuck off to the bar’.

Brighton’s own Mantras kick started the night with a loud, brash 3 song set, followed by Angie Mac Hula, bringing a touch of burlesque with her hoops. A variety of acts and artists entertained, and most culminated together on stage or on the dance floor as the night progressed (the pictures above give a better flavour). The legendary Arthur Brown literally swept the audience of their feet during a hell-raising rendition of ‘I Put A Spell On You’. At 73, a true testament to the party living on.

As well as raising a life-saving amount of money, the night was a great reminder of the collective power to make a difference. Both Amy and Laura were incredibly gracious to those who came, and to all the acts and supporting cast who put their time and effort in for a needed cause.

I'm a music, events and portrait photographer (Time for Heroes Photography), balancing freelance work with my day job as a content writer.

I'm a lover of the open-minded, treating people and our planet with respect, punk spirit and take a rather footloose and fancy-free new approach to embrace new experiences. Not a fan of heights.

I adore Brighton's unique character, and have been proudly repping Brighton Source since 2013.
