Big Deal, Sat 18th June

In 2011 Big Deal’s stripped-back debut saw the band join the grand tradition of smouldering, charismatic boy-girl duos alongside The Kills and The White Stripes. Since then, they’ve added more band members and fleshed out their sound. Sexual ambiguity is pushed off centre stage for chunky, reverb-soaked anthems – but not abandoned entirely.

Recently signed to Brighton’s FatCat imprint for their third album ‘Say Yes’, this show promises more of Big Deal’s gossamer-light melodies interspersed with urgent blasts of shimmering guitar, which are as grandiose and self-effacing as their band name. “Tonight, you’re on top / Let the sweat drip off,” shouts their sweetly melodic stand-out track ‘V.I.T.R.I.O.L’. Come along to soak up the steaminess.
