It makes sense that Ian stood out on the drizzly morning we took to the streets. He ought to have all the clobber as he owns one of the best clothes shops in town – Minky. But even with the access to his fave labels – YMC, Nudie and Surface To Air – that he looks like he’s walked off the set of a 60s French new wave film is particularly impressive. It’s not so long that boys slobbed around in snowboard jackets, so it’s great to see the return of the coat, whether mac, duffle or peacoat. There’s something quite romantic about turning your collar up to the cold. And if you can imagine you’re in a Goddard movie, all the better. Gaulois optional, obviously.
