Brighton is a bit of a t-shirt town don’t you think? We’re a casual lot, with the added factor of the sheer quantity of graphic designer types designing the prints. This being the case, the relatively recent resurgence of the shirt has been a breath of fresh air. There is a certain type of look that works with a shirt and there are many that don’t. Take all those I-came-straight-from-the-office drinkers for instance. Sam here has nailed one of the good ones – sort of day off from guitar tech-ing for The Raconteurs.

Style blogs have recently been railing against the third undone button at the neck (rightly so in the case of the louche, chest hair touting lotharios), but hey – when it’s a hot day and when there’s a pair of half-inched sunnies hanging there, we reckon it’s A-OK.

SHIRT: “Its from TopMan. I like shirts – you can wear them smart or casual – it’s win win really”

SUNGLASSES: “I found them. In a shop. I mean, it was obvious they weren’t actually from the shop – they were just on the side. I guess someone put them down while they were trying some others on.”

BELT: “It’s from, Levi’s – black leather”

JEANS: “They’re old – I’ve had them for a while. I think maybe they’re from Cult…”

TRAINERS: “They’re Nike – I bought them in Nottingham. I try and keep them looking as white as possible, which isn’t always easy. I chuck them in the washing machine when they get muddy”
