Heavy Load Reunion, Saturday 28th October

The much-missed local punk band were reunited at a March screening of their highly-rated, award-winning documentary and talks began around doing some more recording and putting on a reunion gig. A date and venue were confirmed but then tragedy struck when their lead singer Simon Barker sadly died in August.

After much soul-searching it was decided to proceed with the gig as a tribute to Simon and instead of finding a last-minute replacement they’ve had the brilliant idea of giving their friends and fans the opportunity to step into the limelight by holding a ballot to win a song to sing – a ‘raffleoke’ if you like. Even if you don’t win, this will be a great way to experience the band, well-known for their inclusivity, one final time.

Stay Up Late supporters and GNU Records recording artistes Asbo Derek bring their punk rock pandemonium to the party and the night kicks off with some heavy metal mayhem courtesy of Zombie Crash.

Tickets are £10 from here and there’s no charge for carers.
