Bloomers. How can you walk past someone wearing bloomers and not want to know why? Luckily Charlie was kind enough not to slap our faces and told us a story we’d love to be true.

“I don’t know how much you know about knickers,” she asks us as we blush. “Women would go and get lingerie for their wedding night and they’d needlepoint their initials into the back of their pants. And these ones I’m wearing have that in the back of them, which means that they’re ancient, and that someone went and bought these to pop their cherry. I thought that was awesome.”

That is, indeed, awesome, as is the rest of the outfit. Charlie is clearly the world champion of Fashion Buckaroo, a game where you put on as many rad items as you can without toppling over. She gets away with the madness thanks to the matching colours that run through the outfit, with those beads holding everything together (thematically, not literally). A real ray of sunshine.

Head scarf and flower, various

“The flowers I pick up when I see them and they’re cheap enough. The headscarf is from a charity shop I think. I have something in my hair pretty much all the time.”

Jacket from H&M

“It was on sale and I had to have it because it was amazing. It was 15 quid down from 60 – I was really impressed. It’s just lovely.”

Beads from a charity shop

“I always get them when I see them cheap because I wear a lot of them.”

Cardigan from Spain

“I think I got it when I lived in Spain, but I can’t remember the make of it – same with the dress.”

Dress from Spain

“Why do I like it? It’s pretty colours and flowers and things and it’s nice!”

Bloomers from Snoopers Paradise

“I bought them yesterday and I love them. I sort of have a weird passion for lingerie.”

Tights from Primark, “probably”

“I constantly wear coloured tights.”

Shoes from eBay

“They’re just shoes – they’re a nice colour and they’re a reasonable height for walking around. I wear heels all the time.”
