Bizarro Promotions, those fine purveyors of top-notch indie gigs in Brighton, Bristol and beyond, have announced another highly anticipated show for early next year. Always attentive to ensuring that the support bands complement the headliners, they’ve done it again with the latest in their ongoing series of Sunday matinee shows at The Prince Albert.

Headliner European Sun is a band formed around vocalist Steve Miles who, along with Rob Pursey (Heavenly, Catenary Wires, Swansea Sound) on bass, drummer Ian Button (Thrashing Doves, Death In Vegas) and Steve’s daughter Elin on additional vocals, is about to release its second album When Britain Was Great, on 26th January 2026.

The title track is available now from Bandcamp here and is a state of the nation address that reflects on the rose-tinted golden age of growing up in the early 1970s, looking at the perceived highs and actual lows of being brought up in British culture that goes some way to explain the sorry state we find ourselves in now.

Rachel Love (Dolly Mixture) has been releasing wonderful, dreamy music under own name for a few years now and her new band Railcard has been chosen to open the show. Alongside Rachel, the group features Peter Momtchiloff (Heavenly, Would-be-goods) on bass and Ian Button, who’s pulled a double shift for the afternoon.

Railcard released their debut EP in February, which came with a limited edition plastic railcard holder, and quickly sold out. However they will be releasing three more songs this weekend (20th/21st December) via their Bandcamp page here, along with two embroidered northern soul patches you can buy and sew onto your sports bag.
