Oh, what a night. Our re-launch party might have taken a while to happen but it was certainly worth the wait. The only festival that was guaranteed dry this summer, we turned Audio inside out with grass, tents and trees in the club to bring our massive line-up to life.
There might have been a bit of a village fete vibe, but this was far from a vicar’s tea party. The Miserable Rich kicked things off with their beautiful chamber-room tales of hangovers and motherly love – filling an empty room by the end of their set. Restlesslist impressed everyone with intense soundscapes that sounded like the best of the acid soaked 60s brought right up to date.
HerelDeduke played the best set of his life – bringing a new raw energy to his indie hip hop soul. Mumdance got the room dancing with his fidety-baile basslines, while Cheeky Cheeky & The Nosebleeds brought youthful energy down from London. The debut set from Chateaux (aka Sam Schtumm and Cagedbaby) was pure electro house groove, ready for Skint and Ed Banger hero Midfield General to get nice and heavy.
Tenth Dan from the Qemists rounded things off with a frantic but melodic blast of drum’n’bass. But that wasn’t all. Andy Mac, Shibby Shabblers, It Came From The Sea and Steve Chaos provided some incredible left of centre dance music upstairs that had them dancing in the bar until we were turfed out at 3am. An amazing night that would have been worth every penny of fifteen quid, had we not put it on for free. It was our gift for the amazing support you’ve given us since we came back. We love you too.
